Scientists Have Created Mini Brains in Laboratory Finally
Look at these balls as small as lizard eggs. They are actually mini brains created in the lab, which can learn anything at a pinch. Like literally, the scientist who created them had told them 240 variations of eight male voices and they only In two days of training, he recognized all the 240 voices with almost 80 accuracy. Just imagine, you are not good in maths but you want a brain as sharp as Einstein’s, then now with these fast mini brains, this can become a reality very soon. Simply in You have to install the mini brains in your body and calibrate it and then for a few days you have to train your new brain for math to become a genius. All this can only be done by AI right now because of this technology. Well, has the time finally come that we can acquire any talent instantly just like AI? How does this whole technology work?

How Mini Brains Learn The Information ?
How does learning happen and how mini brain will fit in our brain, but before moving ahead, there is a problem in it, have you noticed or not, so a lot of information is already being processed in our brain, right? Because of this processing, we are able to do everyday things with ease. Now if we dedicate some part of our brain to only one thing, then obviously due to the limited size of our skull, some of the other parts Part will have to be compromised and maybe some functions may be compromised.

So does this mean that if our goal is to become extra smart to become smart, then to meet that goal do we have to use our other abilities like memory, emotion, creativity? We will have to make sacrifices. See, before analyzing it, we have to understand what is the real motive of the scientist behind making it.
How The Concept Of Mini Brain Arises ?
So see, in today’s time, medical science has become so advanced that we can analyze any organ of the body. Apart from keeping it alive outside, it can also be transplanted to another patient, but despite so much advancement, our brain is the only organ which, let alone transplanting, keeping it alive cannot be achieved outside the body. Reason being keeping the brain alive. To maintain it, it is important to know which part of it and what function it does, but even today, we consider it complete even after having CT scans, MRI, braces of other animals and even cutting the human brain and doing experiments on it. That’s why in 2013, scientists from Austria’s Institute of Molecular Biotechnology thought that why not make a brain from scratch and study it. That’s why they extracted stem cells from the human body because stem cells give birth to other cells of the body.

How Mini Brains are Grown ?
But to make these cells, chemicals called growth factors are required, only then they get converted into a particular type of cells like heart cells, skin cells or brain cells. Now one of these growth factors is Noggin which Transforms stem cells into specialized brain cells. So scientists injected noggin growth factor into these stem cells and kept them in such conditions that closely match the conditions of our body and for this they used a liquid like our blood. They gave nutrients to those cells and to mimic the body temperature, they also placed these cells in an oven-like incubator. After all this, they just waited for three to four days and who knows what happened in those three to four days.
Well, many of them All the stem cells unfortunately died but the ones that survived had successfully transformed into brain cells i.e. neurons and they had also created brain tissues as small as the tip of a pen. So now because they got positive results, they kept growing more brain cells for a few days. They were allowed to grow, after which exactly 60 days later, when the scientists observed them again, they saw that structures like the size of these brain cells were becoming visible as a draw-string for the brain, that is, till this point, they were living mini brains in the scientist’s lab.
How Mini Brains Are Trained ?
We were successful in making it, but do these mini braces also work? Well, first of all it was necessary to find out that we are able to establish communication with the brain by translating its electrical impulses. For this, the scientist designed a microchip that could talk to them through electrical impulses and connected it to these mini brains. What happened was that these microchips could now translate information into electrical impulses for those mini brains and In return, the signals coming from those brains could be given to us in the form of answers.
Then as soon as the scientists found an effective way to communicate with these mini brains, they started training these braces with the help of this communication. In the first step of this training, they fed eight different male voices in the form of electrical signals to their brains for two consecutive days so that they could basically understand the differences in the patterns of those different voices. Once this was done, now it was time for them. To test to see whether they actually understand things like our brain or not, now for this test the scientist Ho made these braces listen to eight male voices in the form of 240 different audio clips and saw whether For every sound, the same patterns are being formed in these brains which were being formed during training and the answer was yes.
Response Record By Mini Brain
Scientist Ho observed that out of every 10 audio clips, eight times the mini brains in their response accurately identified those voices. He sent signals of exactly the same voice back, that is, in just two days of training, he started recognizing voices with accuracy at almost 80. Which is a huge success because you think for yourself, whenever you listen to the songs of different singers. When you listen, what does your brain do? It immediately starts matching these songs with the memory of the voices of these singers in its database and on the basis of that you are able to recognize whose voice it is exactly.
Now we have this ability in ourselves. Feeding this ability outside the brain is like the concept of a sci-fi movie till now, so when a scientist achieved this in a lab grown brain, then we can safely say that even those mini brains are able to understand things and take decisions on their own, i.e. That they are actually intelligent and may even be conscious now being a science actually I think this is a huge achievement because just imagine, currently we have VR cameras that mimic our sense of sight, microphones that mimic our ears. We work like this and there are also touch sensors like mobile screen which mimic our intended feeling, but till now we have not been able to mimic our two major sensory organs, nose and tongue.
The reason being that these are the senses, these organs do not do the major work in them. Rather our brain does it and this is the reason why these two senses are the most subjective, some people find coffee too bitter, some less, some perfume too strong and some less, and that is why they are called age and sex. It is very difficult to replicate.
Electronic Tongue and Its Connection With Mini Brains
Yes, some scientists have definitely tried to mimic them, like in 2011, a company made an electronic tongue which recognizes the taste on the basis of specific chemicals.
If the amount of glucose in something is high, then it says it is sweet. If there is more nitrogen compound in something then it is said to be bitter and so on. Now this is a big achievement in itself but here a fundamental question arises. Imagine if someone’s tongue has been cut off and in its place we have replaced it with this electronic device. If we attach it to the tongue, can this new tongue tell the difference between Gulab Jamun and Rasgulla like its original tongue? Well no, because an important part is missing in it, it is not connected with our brain.
If this tongue is somehow connected to our If we are able to connect with the brain then we can say that it has mimicked the sense of taste to a great extent and this is exactly the power of our mini brains of today because look at the way these mini brains have done different things with the help of a microchip- Recognize different sounds. In the same way, we can also train these brains to recognize taste and smell. This will mean that when we use such brain cells like electronic tongue, we will be able to make us taste or smell things like electronic tongue. If we do not even need an artificial nose or tongue, we just have to smell and test a perfume online sitting at home, then in such a situation we can use this technology by simplifying it further like for example, you also know this.
Other Sides
It may be that recently such wireless chargers have come in the market which can charge wireless electric devices through magnets, that is, basically they transfer electrical energy just by touching them, so imagine that there is such a wireless system installed in your smartphone that you can select a perfume online. Then an option appears on your screen saying Taste It. You click on it and put your smartphone on your head and your smartphone wirelessly transfers a certain electrical impulse and makes your brain smell that fragrance in real life. Well now you can feel it. What a revolutionary technology this is. I personally think that if this technology with mini brains and microchips gets developed and comes into the main stream, then this is truly a game changer.
Only, currently there are some problems in it which we will have to fix first. Some time ago, We had said that these mini brains can think, but because they are as small as a lizard’s egg, their thinking capacity is so low that even a human feet in front of them will seem more intelligent in a second based on these brains. Looking at the experiments done, it seems that most of the work is being done by the microchip present in it and without it, this mini brain is just a bunch of a few cells. On top of that, the microchip on which this experiment is dependent is a machine which can do anything anywhere. It can get damaged at any time because there have been many such stories in which the machines installed to save life almost took the lives of the people using them. Like for example, heart pacemakers. These pacemakers help the heart beat through electrical signals. But these pacemakers, due to technical malfunctions, sometimes gave instructions to stop the heartbeat. For example, once a 67-year-old heart patient, Lynn Farley, was given deadly shocks 60 times in one night by her pacemaker. Now one shock from the pacemaker is so painful that it feels as if someone kicked you hard in the chest and she received 60 such shocks back to back due to which she became unconscious even before reaching the hospital. To keep him alive, the doctors had to remove his faulty pacemaker. In another such case, a patient named Mr. Perry suffered such painful shocks due to this that he himself asked the doctors to remove it even though he knew that without the pacemaker, They cannot stay alive, that is, all in all, we can trust pacemakers as much as we want, but in the end, they are only a machine which can perform malfunctions at any time like any other machine. On top of that, if such machines are present inside us, then Just imagine that helplessness that you know that the machine installed inside your body is giving you trouble but you cannot do anything about it, so what it means to say is that these mini braces working on microchip are still perfect. It is far from being said that until we have its full proof application along with Plan B and Plan C, it cannot be launched for main stream users at all but this has definitely stopped any scientist from working on this technology. We understand the potential behind it very well and also know its medical applications and the potential to treat some mental disorders because in 2021, a very interesting experiment was conducted in which they injected some tissues of this brain into the brain of rats. And then they saw that after about three months it was created in the lab. As I said earlier, your brain cells are created using your own body cells, so there is no question of the cells not matching here. So yes, because of this lab grown brain, we can get a huge breakthrough in medical science and now only time will tell what is the true potential of this technology. Now on one hand we are learning to create brains artificially, on the other hand we are not You think, if any modern species like us lives in this universe, then they already know this technology and if they do, then can’t it be that this universe of ours is also a kind of big creator and navigator, with the same activities which are governed by the same laws of physics? If it works on laws, does it mean that our universe can be a brain?
